Delta BJJ Policies and Expectations

At Delta BJJ, we aim to create a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who steps on our mats. By participating in our classes, you agree to uphold the following expectations:

1. Respect Others
Treat your training partners, coaches, and the space with respect. Consideration, kindness, and accountability are foundational to a healthy training environment.

2. Prioritize Safety
Safety is non-negotiable. Follow your instructors’ guidance and communicate clearly with your training partners. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up — your well-being matters.

3. Take Care of Each Other
Be mindful of how you train with your partner. Support them during takedowns, apply submissions slowly with control, and check in if something feels off. Respect injuries and physical limitations — everyone’s body is different.

4. Honor Personal Boundaries
You are always welcome to take a break, opt out of a drill, or say no to a technique or partner. Your comfort and autonomy are just as important as your progress.

5. Train Clean
Come to class with clean gear (gi, rash guard, belt, etc.) and a clean body. Fingernails and toenails should be trimmed, and please be mindful of body odor and fresh breath.

6. Footwear Off the Mats
Bring clean sandals or sliders for off-mat movement. No bare feet in the bathroom or walking around the facility — help us keep the mats clean and sanitary.

7. Rash Guards Required
Rash guards must be worn during training for everyone’s safety and comfort.

8. Banned Moves
For everyone’s safety, the following moves are banned in the training room unless directly supervised by an instructor: kani basami/scissor takedown, tani otoshi, flying armbar/triangle, jumping guard, slams/spikes (e.g. suplex), neck cranks (e.g. can opener).

These policies may be updated at any time. By participating in our classes you agree to follow our policies at all times to keep Delta BJJ a safe, positive environment for all.
